Is the language used in the advertising of beauty products deceptive? why?

This is one of my questions for my english research topic on 'the language of beauty advertising'. could you please give your opinion on whether or not you think that the language (emphasis on language) of beauty products advertisments is deceptive and why. links to sites would be helpful too. thanks =)
