Who says the French are anti-Americans?

Sadly Americans have forgotten about Marquis de Lafayette who helped us win our freedom from the British. He wa friends of George Washington and James Armistead (an African American who spied on the British for George Washington). James decided after being a free man to go by the name James Armistead Lafayette. The French Revolution did not go good for Marquis de Lafayette, whose idea of a Republic did not come about. He tried to keep the King and Queen alive and was not for the mass killings. However, this ill fate may have spared him, his wife and children from being beheaded too. While he had a couple of mistress for a little while it is evident that he grew to love his wife. He never remarried after her death and when he died it is said he was holding a small locket with her picture in it. Hopefully America and France restore their friendship.
