Is it deceptive to claim the bible is "God's word" when you can't even prove your god is real?

I think it is. I think it's deceptive, dishonest, misleading, unethical, insincere, deceitful etc. And yet the people who make claims like this think they are more moral than people who don't believe in their god. How can they have such a false self impression?
